Luis Fernandes’, a regular performer with Column 13, Stag Nation and the Parkdale Players, returns to Montreal for Festuary as Le Nouveau International’s first Poet-in-residence. A position new to Montreal, Luis has promised to be workshopping the latest Alain Mercieca play Les cafés tragiques and help choreograph and perform in the Punk rock musical remount of Squeegee. Festuary is a three week period in February (actually beginning January 31st) and running until the 22nd of February with a medley of up and coming works of art. Kid Koala’s drawing nights on Mondays, contemporary dance, sketch comedy,
the usual improv, a remount, and a new play premiered the final weekend, all-in-all it should be a wild three weeks.

Luis Fernandes est de retour et il sera le premier poète-en-résidence au Nouveau International. Il se dévouera à créer des films, des comédies et du théâtre sans relâche. Connu autant pour sa folle énergie que pour sa douceur portugaise, Fernandes est diplômé en théâtre et il a une vaste expérience allant de Mamet à Shakespeare en passant par Euripides, Guirgis et Jésus.
