My Big Gay Italian Wedding satirizes the controversy surrounding same-sex marriage while drawing on larger than life gay and Italian characters. This is a fast paced wacky...zanny comedy (à la sitcom) an 'over the top' absurd farce set in spring 2011, Brooklyn, NYC.
The Pinnunizato family embark on a BIG gay adventure when their only son Anthony Pinnunziato, a gay Italian-American from a large chaotic family, wants to marry his boyfriend Andrew Polinski in a traditional Italian ceremony. Anthony's overbearing mother Angela won't give her blessing unless Andrew's estranged mother also gives her blessing and the ceremony is performed by the family priest. Matters are further complicated by Andrew's ex-boyfriend Gregorio who's intent on breaking up the couple.
What could possibly go wrong when everyone wants to get involved and help out with the wedding plans? ... Everything that's what!
